Raymond Mack, ("Tommy") Brooks, 56, of Vinton, died Friday, November 5, 1999. He was a member of the Vinton First Aid Crew for 31 years, a member of the Vinton Jaycees and the Oddfellows. Tommy was named The Roanoke Valley Father of the Year in 1987 and was a transportation monitor tech with Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, mother and father-in-law, sister, and Patricia F. Brooks. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Ward Brooks; daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and Ronnie Blevins of Vinton, Marceline and Wesley Goff of Goodview; sons and daughters-in-law, Samuel T. and Christi Brooks of Stewartsville, Allan K. and Pam Malina of Hardy, Paul J. Malina, III of Vinton; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Debbie Brooks; sisters and brothers-in-law, Darlene and Howard Lindsey, Sandra and Gary Correll; his honorary mother, Helen G. Flippen; and four grandchildren. Burial at Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton.
