Julia Thurman Moock, age 73, died Saturday, July 16th, 2016 in Wilmington, North Carolina.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donald Moock; son, Christopher Moock (Sandra); daughter, Caroline Moock Sherburne (John); granddaughter, Devon Sherburne; step-grandchildren, Wesley and Lindsay; Sister Helen Thurman Foster (Wayne); and nieces and nephews.
Julia was born in Roanoke, VA in 1942 the daughter of the late Warren and Josephine Thurman, and grew up in Vinton, VA. She graduated from James Madison University 1965. After teaching, she was very involved with church and youth ministry.
Julia had a generous heart with enormous love for her family. She had an infectious laugh and smile. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and gardening, but more than anything loved to spend time in the company of family and friends. She will be missed greatly.
The family will receive friends at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 2 pm followed by a memorial service beginning at 3 pm.
