About	Bruce W. Harper, 54, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly Sunday, March 6, 2016. Bruce was preceded in death by his brother, Neil Harper. Bruce was a produce clerk at Kroger for 38 years. Left to cherish Bruce's memory are his parents, Kersey R. and wife, Annette Harper; wife of 34 years, Joyce Harper; daughters, Tara and husband, Chris Williams, Amanda and husband, Robert Ketchum; grandchildren, Bryson and Austyn Williams, and Grady Ketchum; and close family friend, Kathy Bell. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Hollins Fire Station #5, 7401 Barrens Road, Roanoke, VA 24019; or to the American Cancer Society.The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Simpson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Simpson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Troy Mueller officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
