James William “Jimmy” Carr, 50, of Roanoke, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016. He was preceded in death by his father, William Douglas Carr and grandparents, James and Ebbie Carr and Bill and Mae Blakely.

Surviving are his mother, Brenda Blakely Carr; his 3 loving children, Zachary, Dylan and Taylor Carr and their mother, Teresa Carr; sisters, Terri (Beverly) Bobbitt, Dawn (Rick) Schram and Traci (Chris) Ransom; many nieces and nephews, aunts uncles and countless friends; and girl friend, Rhonda Cornett and her children, Greyson and Lily.

Jimmy had a huge heart and never met a stranger. He will be missed terribly by all who loved him. He is finally at peace with his dad. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 PM on Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Oakey’s East Chapel, 5188 Cloverdale Rd., Roano ke, VA 24012. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, June 13, 2016, at Oakey’s East Chapel. The Rev. Charles Thomas will officiate. Interment will be in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens.
