Phillip Eugene Barton, 42, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2000. He was preceded in death by his father, Lilburn E. "Gene" Barton, and is survived by his mother, Nancy Burdette Beach of Roanoke; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Vicki and Dennis Minnix of Goodview, Suzie and Michael Loyd of Salem; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Brian and Sondra Barton of Botetourt County, Randy Barton of Roanoke, Chris Barton of Raleigh, N.C.; a fiance, Amanda "Mandy" Harnish of Roanoke; a daughter, Aubrey Barton of Goodview; a longtime friend, Barbara of Greenwood, S.C.; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Phillip graduated from William Byrd High School, served in the U.S. Air Force, and was employed by the Virginia Resource Authority.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday from Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Dr. Robert L. Alderman and Rev. Edward P. Creel officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Burial Park. Friends may call after 12 noon Tuesday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel where the family will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
