Margaret Willis Dressler, 89, of Roanoke, died on Friday evening, February 8, 2008. She was a graduate of Agnes Scott College and was a retired science teacher in Roanoke County Schools with twenty-five years of service. During her tenure, she became head of the science department at William Byrd High School. At the time of her death, Mrs. Dressler was a member of the Junior League of Roanoke, the Garden Club of Virginia, the Nancy Christian Fleming Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Roanoke Assembly. Margaret was a member of Saint John's Episcopal Church. She was predeceased by her husband, William Edwin Dressler Sr.; two sons, William Edwin Dressler Jr., Samuel Willis Dressler; and a sister, Jean Willis Moseley. Surviving are five grandchildren and spouses, Samuel Willis Dressler Jr. and Tami, Philip Evans Dressler and Julia, Sarah Jane Schonour and Lane, Elizabeth Mulheisen and Jason, William Edwin Dressler III; nine great-grandchildren, Luke, Tevor, Sam, Chloe, Brandon, Chase, Alyssa, Evans, Ingram; two daughters-in-law, Jane Manning Dressler, Susan Matthews Dressler. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday from Saint John's Episcopal Church with the Reverend Barkley Thompson officiating. Interment at Fair View Cemetery will follow a reception at the church. Arrangements by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
