About	Terry Lynn Doss, 58, of Salem, Va., passed away suddenly and peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at his home. He was a former Postmaster General and recently the Station Manager for the Roanoke Carrier Annex. Terry worked for the United States Postal Service for 25 plus years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed saltwater fishing at the Eastern Shore of Virginia and fresh water fishing at various lakes in the New River Valley. His talents and hobbies were many. Terry was a veteran of the United States Navy and was stationed aboard the USS John King DDG-3 as an air intercept controller. In his youth, Terry was a football and baseball standout at William Byrd High School. He touched the hearts of many people and he will be greatly missed. Terry is survived by his daughters, Alyssa, Annie, and Janie Doss; his parents, Cecil H. and Patsy Smith Doss; his siblings, Priscilla Newton, Karen Mutter, Timothy Doss and Melissa Miller; also many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. A Memorial Service celebrating Terry's life will be held at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 318 Church Ave. SW, Roanoke, Va., at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2015, with Pastor Steve Manuel officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home. Flowers can be sent to the funeral home at the family's request.
