Charles Patrick "Pat" Darnell, 61, of Augusta passed away at his residence on October 23, 2016. Formerly of Vinton, VA, Mr. Darnell was a graduate of William Byrd High School in Vinton. He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War and worked for many years in building maintenance in Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Sally Anne Donovan Darnell; Grandparents, Charles and Isobel Donovan and Walter and Lelia A. Darnell. He is survived by his wife, Diane Darnell of Augusta; parents, Mary and Walter Jay Darnell of Vinton, VA; Stepsons Casey Allen and Keith Allen of Canton, GA; Sister LeeAnne Darnell (Bryan) Jones of Raleigh, NC; Brother, Daniel J. (Vickie) Darnell of Leesburg, VA; Aunt, Peggy (Gene) Harmon of Vinton; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A private memorial service for Mr. Darnell will be held at a later date.
