About Freddie H. Lark, 65, of Roanoke, VA, passed away on Sunday morning, November 1, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Lark, brother, Cleo Lark, and two sisters, Frances Journette and Barbara Brown.
Fred joined Bethlehem Baptist Church at an early age. He sang in the Young Adult Choir and served as a Junior Deacon. He later became a Deacon and founded the Male Chorus at Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was employed at N & W Railroad, Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home, and was a building supervisor at TAP (Total Action for Progress).
He is survived by his daughter, Shanta (Terrence) Saunders; grandson, Jaydon Saunders; sisters, Betty Hamlar, Mary (Robert) Smith, and Carolyn Tasco; brother, James (Deloise) Lark; nieces, Lisa Brown and Crystal Journette; nephews, Xavier Addison, Greg Journette, Jerrell Lark, Byron Hamlar, Michael Hamlar, Anthony Smith, Montrice Smith, and Roderick Tasco; special friends, Robin Davis, Charlie Poindexter, and Ricky Poindexter; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020, from 1 until 5 p.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral services will be held privately. Interment will be in Williams Memorial Park. Condolences may be sent to www.Hamlar-Curtis.com.
