Gerald “Jerry” Wayne Fairchild, 63, of Vinton, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020. He was born in Virginia on February 15, 1957 to the late Herbert C. Fairchild and the late Clara Virginia Lambert Fairchild. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Donna Preissner and his fur babies, Barabbas, Bart, Zach, Bella Grace, Zeke, Lucy and Ellie Mae.
Jerry and Connie were the former owners of Foodette in Vinton. He will be sadly missed by many close friends.
Jerry is survived by a brother, Marshall Fairchild; nephews, Will Preissner, Joey and Randy Fairchild; niece, Melody Ann Thomas; step son, Zach Freedle; grandson, Lance Freedle; brother-in-law, Larry Justice lifelong friend, Connie Fairchild. Jerry is also survived by his beloved girlfriend, Lisa Altis.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 27, 2020 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel. A graveside service will be held after the visitation at 2:00 pm at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
