Tigers’ Vision Book Project
Greetings Tiger Alumni!
Do you have words of encouragement or a motivating story from your own experience that can help the graduates of Whitehaven High School as they continue on their journey towards excellence? Would you like to participate in a project that would provide them with inspiration and motivation?
Dr. Sharon Bush Pedersen, the author of Tigers’ Wisdom: Hope and Inspiration beyond Graduation (2010) has graciously offered to pen a similar book, Tigers’ Vision for the graduates of Whitehaven High School. This project is her attempt, along with WHS alumni quoted in the book, to inspire graduates to make a positive difference in their lives and in the lives of others.
Please join fellow Alumni on Tuesday evening, April 4th, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., in the cafeteria of Whitehaven High School, to meet Dr. Bush Pederson. She will share information about the project and interview Alumni.
Summary Autobiography
Sharon Bush Pedersen, an Alumna of Mitchell High School, is the author of Tigers’ Wisdom: Hope and Inspiration beyond Graduation (2010), a graduation gift to Mitchell High School graduates with insights about making the transition from high school to further education, with generous help from the experiences of alumni.
Despite growing up in an economically disadvantaged household, Sharon managed to make educational and career decisions that have contributed to a long career in international economics and finance on 3 continents, as well as fluency in 4 languages. To this day, she credits her high school teachers and the support of the entire high school environment with contributions to her full and active life as an economist, educator, and author. Dr. Bush Pedersen holds the conviction that, despite hardships and setbacks, graduates can create lives full of dignity, service, and material well-being. There are many more educational and economic opportunities today than previously. Though Dr. Bush Pedersen currently lives in Denmark, she is a native of Memphis, Tennessee in the U.S.
If you are unable to come to the meeting on April 4th, and would still like to contribute to this project. Please email your answers to the interview questions along with your contact information to Yvette Brooks at brooksyvette80@ gmail.com.
It is our hope that you will come out on April 4th and support this very important effort! Help make the Tigers’ Vision book a success by sharing your experiences with our young Tigers. Let’s make this keepsake one that Whitehaven High School graduates will cherish and treasure as they continue to “See the Vision Trough the Eye of the Tiger!”
Best Regards,
