James Edward Bodamer
Class of 1954
Navy, 20+ Years
Captain Bodamer was commissioned as an Ensign after completion of the NROTC program and upon graduation from the University of Mississippi (1958) He holds a Master of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1968). He has served in Port Hueneme, CA., New London, CT., Winter Harbor,MA., Futima, Okinawa, Rota, Spain, Guam, Viet Nam, Diego Garcia. Under his Command the Naval Mobile Construcion Battalion-74 was the best Seabee battalion in the Atlantic Fleet for 1973. Capt. Bodamer has been awarded the Navy Commendation with a Combat V, the Navy Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Vietnam Technical Service Medal, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. James retired as a Captain in the Navy.
