Karen Giambrocco Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Struve and Laporte Funeral Chapel on Mar. 28, 2025.
Karen Lee Giambrocco, also lovingly known as Kare, passed away peacefully at her home on March 25, 2025. She had been in declining health since suffering a stroke during heart surgery in 2019. Until the end, her husband of 40 years, William Murphy, provided unwavering care and was by her side when she passed.
Kare was born in Denver, CO, on March 9, 1954, to Joseph and Genevieve (Niccoli) Giambrocco. She was the third of three children: Sharon, Gary, and Karen. She graduated from Wheat Ridge High School in 1972 and received a bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Colorado in 1976. She became a teacher before moving to California with her sister Sharon in 1978. Sharon and Kare opened an art gallery in Salinas, CA, and she also secured a job as a logistics manager for Macy's, where she worked for 11 years. In 1984, she married William (Bill) Murphy and spent the rest of her life taking pride in caring for her family and raising her daughter, Brenden (born 1986).
Kare is survived by her husband Bill, their daughter Brenden Boggs (married to Bradley Boggs), and grandchildren Maggie (4) and Molly (2). Her brother Gary Giambrocco passed away in 2018, and her sister Sharon Ebina passed away in 2024.
Kare was a loving mother, wife, and sister. She was kind and warm to anyone she met. We will all remember her as an incredibly smart, sweet, creative, wonderful woman whom everyone instantly liked. While our world will not be the same without her, we will all carry the sparkle she had with us always.
Kare will be interred at California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery in Seaside, CA.
