Just saw the article on the 40th anniversary. I played from '78 - '80 @ WHS and then a couple of years at SHNU. I now live near Ft; Lauderdale, FL: and just stopped playing "A" men's league a few years ago. I won't be attending the game but just wanted to say it's a great thing you have going on here. Keep up the good work and Go Eagles!

Saturday, January 5th, 2013
7:00 pm - Alumni game (Alumni vs Alumni) all former WHS players are welcome to play. If you are not able to play but want to help, we can use your help. We have other off ice duties to attend to, i.e., score keeper, timekeeper, video camera operators, etc....
8:15 pm - Buffet dinner in the Sky Box overlooking the rink. Spouses/girlfriends and families are welcome. Join friends and other former players from the past 39 years. Watch the Varsity game from the Sky Box during dinner. Bring pictures and stories if you have them.
8:30 pm - Watch the WHS Varsity play at the Newington Arena ( Connecticut International Skating Center )
Total Cost - $45. Per person
$20. For spouse/girlfriend
Parents and family of all current & former players are invited to attend the dinner!! $20 per person; $10 for children.

1970 Championship football team
The Fall 1970 championship football team was inducted into the Wethersfield Athletic Hall of Fame recently. This team was 1 -15 the previous two years and turned it around in one year in a remarkable season...Congrat's to all.

Wethersfield High School Ice Hockey Alumni News:
The WHS Hockey Alumni held their 5th golf outing on October 2nd, 2010 at the Goodwin Park Golf Course. In a close contest, the foursome of Jim Indermaur, Spensor Indermaur, Doug Indermaur and Andrew Hock prevailed (picture attached). There was a 2nd place tie between the foursome of Matt Mason, Mike Mason, Dave Mason and Gregg Donahue and the foursome of Joe Gurtowsky, Jim Corrigan, Mike Dibattisto, and Mark Plavcan. In separate contests, Dave Mason won the Longest Drive ; Matt Mason was the winner on the Closest to the Pin and Jeff Gronback won the Putting Contest.
All proceeds from the outing are donated to the Wendell Coogan Scholarship Foundation. To date, 21 scholarships have been earned by graduating senior hockey players.
The scholarship is named in honor of Coach Coogan who started the Varsity Hockey Program in the 1970’s. Coach Coogan was recently inducted into the WHS Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame.
SAVE THE DATE… The Alumni Ice Hockey Game and Dinner will be held on December 18th, 2010 at 2:30pm at the Trinity College Hockey Arena. More info will soon be sent.

Gymnastics
Assistant Coach Michele and Coach Ashley are seeking Gymnasts to join the winter 2008-2009 team! Make sure you send your freshman (or any classmates) to SDMS gym first day back after Thanksgiving vacation. Captains are Lauren Hoisel and Liz Dowdy.

The football team has won again!! In front of a sellout crowd they scored big and scored aplenty.
