Linda entered the US Army in August 1964 and served 24 years in many stateside assignments, one tour in Vietnam and two in Germany. Her assignments included BCT drill sergeant, instructor and First Sergeant. She retired in December 1988.

Staff Sgt. John Ellis Deltuva IV, 33, passed away suddenly Jan. 25, 2011, at Fort Belvoir, VA. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1995 and attended basic training at Fort Sill, OK, where he also completed his advanced training in the Field Artillery. SSG Deltuva deployed to Iraq in 2003 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While there, he worked as a Geospatial Engineer providing key materials and products in the War on Terror. At Fort Hood in 2007, SSG Deltuva was assigned to 4th Aviation Brigade as a squad leader in a Topographical Unit. From there he again deployed to Iraq for a 12 month tour. When SSG Deltuva returned from Iraq, he was assigned as a platoon sergeant to Echo Company, 169th Engineer Battalion with duty at Fort Belvior, VA.

SSG Deltuva's awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal with Bronze Campaign Star, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon.

SSG Deltuva is survived by his wife, Trina Deltuva, and their four sons: Hunter, Chase, Cory, and Austin. SSG Deltuva is the son of John and Jacque (Dukemen) Deltuva, of Westville.
