Joyce R Self

Class of 1959

Joyce R. Self is a lifelong resident of Homewood Brushston and graduated from Westinghouse High School in 1959. After 16 years of raising her own four children Joyce went to the University of Pittsburgh and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She then went on to obtain her Master Degree in Education also from the University of Pittsburgh. Joyce never left the Homewood Community and returned to her alma mater Westinghouse high school in 1982 as an English teacher until she tired at the end of the 2000 school year. Throughout her career she encouraged many students to excel and follow their career goals.
