Had to do 2 months of boot camp in Orlando, FL in the hottest months (Julu/August), I survived,barely. Then 2 months tech college in Meridan, MS, graduated 3rd in class. Then the remainder of 6 years at Reserve Center on Commercial St., Portland. Fortunately, the good ole' days of peace time. It was a long 6 years, but I enjoyed it overall.
