Beloved husband of Judy (nee Ridilla); treasured father of Stephanie (Jeff) Coates, John (Jackie), and Nicholas; cherished son of Nancy (Stephen) Melchioris and Robert (deceased), wife Betty; dearly loved son-in-law of Peter (deceased) and Judith Ridilla; eldest brother of Ronald, Laura (Dan) Tippy, James, and the following deceased: Robert Jr., Diane Weber, Mary Catherine Sholtis, and Nancy Sholtis; brother-in-law of Elaina (Jeff) Zgrabik and Peter (Robin) Ridilla; loving uncle to Ronald, Robert, Nicole, Stacie, Judy, Jeffrey, Josef, Kyle, Katie, Allison, and Peter. John retired from the Cleveland Plain Dealer and was a friend to many. Funeral services Thursday 9:15 a.m. at FORTUNA FUNERAL HOME, 7076 BRECKSVILLE ROAD, and 10 a.m. at Saint Joseph Byzantine Catholic Church, 8111 Brecksville Road. VISITATION WEDNESDAY 2 - 8 P.M.
