Football Career
NFL 2006:
Pile re-signed with Dallas on March 31 and attended training camp with the Cowboys. Pile was released on September 3 by Dallas before the regular season. He spent the rest of the 2006 season away from football.
NFL 2005:
Pile saw considerable playing time with the Dallas Cowboys in all 16 games with one start. He recorded 11 special teams tackles, good for fourth on the team and recorded 14 stops from his safety position. He made his Cowboys debut at San Diego (9/11). Against Washington (9/19), he recorded his first tackle of the season on special teams before playing in the nickel package at San Francisco (9/25) and recording two special teams stops. Against Philadelphia (10/9), he notched his first start as the Cowboys defense opened up in a nickel package and posted one stop and one special teams tackle. He led the team with two special teams tackles and recorded a season-high three stops on defense against the N.Y. Giants (10/16) before recording two tackles and one special teams tackle at Seattle (10/23). Against Arizona (10/30), he helped limit the Cardinals to 142 net passing yards and added one stop on special teams but saw limited action at Philadelphia (11/14) due to a groin strain .At the N.Y. Giants (12/4), he led the team with two special teams stops, and against Kansas City (12/11) he added a tackle from his safety position and one stop on special teams. At Washington (12/18), he recorded two stops playing alongside Keith Davis at free safety before closing out the season against St. Louis (1/1/06) with three tackles while filling in at safety for the injured Roy Williams

Pile was drafted in the seventh round (252nd overall) of the NFL Draft by Kansas City. He was released at the end of training camp. He was out of football until signing to the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad during week 14 of the season
