Class of 1974
Navy, 11 Years
Spent 4 years in the Air Force and 7 in the US Navy. I went to the air force right out of high school. I graduated on June the 6th and June the 12th I was in boot camp in San Antonio Texas. My job after schooling in the Air Force was a Loadmaster on the large cargo aircraft. I was stationed at Mac Dill AFB in Tampa FL, a great place to be for 4 years after growing up in Beloit. After my time was up in the USAF I made my way back to little Beloit to find no work so instead of just hanging out. I joined the Navy with the same sweet job I had in the Air Force. I was stationed in Virginia Beach and Atlanta at Naval Air Stations and never had to board a ship.

I enlisted on June 9th 1961, went to Boot Camp at the Great Lakes NTC, Went to tech school in Memphis, TN for Avation Mechanic, worked on aircraft for the next 23 yrs. In the Navy I travled to Spain, Italy, Lajas Island Portugal, Bermuda, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Alaska, Japan, Philippians, and Iceland, Met alot of good people and had a wonderful time. I retired in 1990
