| About Me | Tried college at UCCS (didn't pan out); worked briefly as a fry cook, security guard, and pipefitter and welder's helper; and worked nine years in various editorial positions at the (defunct since 1986) Colorado Springs Sun during which time I married. I moved on to a more successful college stint at UCD until my son was born (1988); two years later I began full-time work at Rocky Mountain News and stayed there until it closed on Feb. 28, 2009, after nearly 150 years of continuous publication. In the fall of 2009, I took up my college education again, adding a few more credit hours toward my BA in history (made the dean's list).
