About Event

A message you can’t ignore---Wasson Class of ‘74
It’s hard to believe that it’s been 50 years since we said goodbye to the hallowed halls of Wasson High. Let’s get together on Friday and Saturday, July 19 and 20.
Friday evening we are working on a “get reacquainted” social hour. Details will be forthcoming.
On Saturday we will meet at Wasson for a tour of the school for old time sake. We’d like to meet in the courtyard at 11:00 with BYO sack lunch and then tour at noon.
Saturday evening we have reservations at The Pinery North for a wonderful sit down dinner from 5:30-9:30. Dinner includes appetizers, and a 3 course meal. (Cash bar available)
All this for only $67 per person. We will need reservations and payment by June 15. Please make your check or money order for $67 per person payable to Marilyn von Ahlefeldt. The sooner the better as we have committed to this date and there’s no backing out now.
If you’re unable to attend, consider jotting down some great memories, send them in and we’ll share them at the reunion dinner.
Spread the word to all the classmates you know. We are looking forward to a great and fun weekend. It won’t be the same without you.
If you have questions, feel free to contact Marilyn (Bjornsrud) von Ahlefeldt at 719-510-8076 or email at vonahle@gmail.com.

I agree with Kelly. Do you need help planning a place? I know many more of us would come if there was a place to enjoy our time together and share a meal.

Dinner dance? Cocktails, etc
I think if you publish more information and send it out again you will get more interest.

At this time we are planning on a bring your own picnic in the park. We want to keep it as inexpensive as possible.
I'm too old to sit on the ground, as most our age are. Why not Paninos or the school patio?
What do the other classes do?
And why keep it so inexpensive? We're adults who've all worked hard and can spring for a dinner out. Even out of towners can do that.
I totally agree with you, Kelly. I have seen several classes plan a dinner at Patty Jewitt...What about the View House or somethinglike that?
Personally I am a very limited budget. I won't be sitting on the ground because I will bring a lawn chair. I have only had one person offer to help with the reunion. She posted it on Facebook and we've only had six replies. I tried this many many years ago and I only had six people show up. I was hoping for the 50 year reunion we'd have a bigger interest. I didn't want to book any place to borrow an advance until I knew if there would be an interest. It's looking like there is not.
I would be coming from out of state so significant travel costs and time off of work. Would definitely want it to be more than picnic in the park.
Hey Debbie Mayo, I am in the same boat. It will be about $2000 for tickets, a car, hotel, and meals.
