About | Obituary for Peter C. Pallesen Peter C. Pallesen of Jackson passed away June 11, 2017. He was born in Racine, WI, on September 5, 1945, to Peter C. and Phyllis A. (Heffel) Pallesen, Sr. Pete graduated from Washington Park High School in Racine in 1963. On April 27, 1968, he married Mary K. Sorenson. Pete served in the US Army from 1966-1969. He completed an apprenticeship as a wood and metal patternmaker at Racine Steel Castings and worked in foundries in Wisconsin, Texas, and Michigan as a patternmaker and supervisor. He completed associate degrees at Jackson Community College. Pete is survived by his wife Mary, his daughter Kathrin (Jamie) Bowe of Ft. Knox, KY, his son Matt of Racine, WI, and his granddaughters Mackenzie and Mikayla. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is also survived by his sister Patricia (Arnold) Janot, his brother Tom (Julie), and his brother-in-law Gus Sorenson as well as four nieces, a nephew, and several cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by a niece. Pete was a Lutheran by faith. He enjoyed music and played acoustic guitar. He coached youth soccer in Racine for many years and helped run a youth soccer league. He was a runner and bicyclist until his health declined. Pete was skilled with his hands at repairing or building around the house. He also enjoyed writing. Funeral services for Pete will be on Friday June 16, 2017, at 11:00am at St. James Lutheran Church, 4225 S. Jackson Road in Jackson with Pastor Martha Porter-Reid officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 until time of service. Watson Funeral Chapel is serving the family. Memorials may be made to St. James or the Cascades Humane Society. A memorial service will be held in Racine, WI, at a later date. Pete’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home for their compassionate care. |
