RE: Request for Alumni Support

Dear Washington High School Alumni,

The Washington High School’s marquee has suffered an excessive amount of dry rot and can no longer hold messages. We need your help to bring our marquee back to life.

We have used this sign as a way to notify parents, students, and the general public of events and happenings at Washington High School. Since its decline, we have seen a drop in community attendance and support at events held here. We must increase awareness to support students in theatre productions, vocal music concerts, and sporting events. Without the tried and true method of delivering news to every car which passes by us on Leavenworth Road, we fear community support will continue to decline.

Unfortunately, the state of financial budgets does not allow us the means to repair or replace this valuable piece of informative equipment. To remedy this situation, we are asking our alumni and community partners to contribute to a fund established with the sole purpose of replacing the school marquee.

Our goal is to raise $20,000.00 on or before July 1, 2016. This will allow us to start the 2016-17 year with a welcome message on our new marquee. All individual and corporate sponsors will be included in a very special Marquee Dedication Ceremony and recognized as a contributor in our new Alumni Room.
