I Knew Robert Cottenier

Linda Sylvia: My name is Sam and I went to school with Bob all 4 years of high school. I had been to his home several times in West Warwick and met your Mom once. It was a long time ago but I remember going there. Bob was a great young man. He was not very tall and because of this he was a little mouthy as to protect his size. Some of the bigger classmates did shove him around but he took it like a man. He was quite a young man. I was shocked and saddened when I heard the news that he went into the service and was killed shortly after, but not surprised, as he was fearless and would do anything to help a friend. I unfortunately had my yearbook damaged and never received another one or I would show you a picture of Bob. I can say though, even though you never met him, you can be very proud of him. He had a very short life but he enjoyed every moment of it. My best to you and your family Linda.

Dear Sir:
My name is Linda Sylvia and I am the sister of Robert Cottenier who I have been told graduated in 1966 from your school. Robert and I were born of the same mother but different father's. I never had the opportunity to meet him until years later when I found out by accident that even had a brother. After all those years of searching afterwards and tears I cried, t'was the day I found him they told me he died. He was in Vietnam no more than a month when he was killed. I need and would appreciate your help in locating a high school picture of him, who his friend's were, someone who could share with me who my brother was, I am now 65 yrs old and Bob is 11 months old than I and we never met. Is there anywhere on a bulletin board that you could mention my brother's name and ask your student's to ask their parent's if they graduated in 1966 and new or befriended my brother? that would mean so much to me.
