Linda Mae Turvin, 78, of New Midway, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 9, 2025, following a lengthy illness.
Born on July 10, 1946, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late James and Naomi Lescalleet. She was the beloved wife of Steve Turvin, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage.
Linda was a devoted mother to her son, Eric S. Turvin, Sr., of New Midway, and a loving grandmother to her cherished grandchildren, Tabitha Turvin and Eric Turvin, Jr.
She graduated from Walkersville High School and Hagerstown Business College. Early in her career, Linda worked for the State Highway Department. After embracing motherhood, she dedicated her time to raising her son. Once Eric started school, Linda continued her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and later as a pharmacy technician.
Linda found great joy in the outdoors and spent much of her free time camping, fishing, and swimming. She was especially proud to support and cheer on her son and grandchildren in their endeavors.
A visitation will be held at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro, on Thursday, March 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 14, at 10:30 a.m., with interment to follow at Haugh's Cemetery in Ladiesburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Linda's honor to the Frederick County Humane Society, 1786 North Market Street, Frederick, MD 21701.
