Class of 1963
Army, 37 Years
I moved from Wadena to Star City in Dec 1963, so did not graduate from WCHS. I did come back for my classmates' graduation in 1966. I served in the Royal Canadian Artillery from Sep 1966 until Dec 2003. I attended the Royal Roads Military College in Victoria and the Royal Military College in Kingston, and served in: British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Ontario, Cyprus, Germany, Syria, Honduras, Egypt, Norway. I was honoured to command Canada's Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) on its first deployment following Hurricane Mitch in Nov 1998 (deployed to Honduras). Following my release from the Army, I worked in various contract positions with the Canadian Armed Forces until finally retiring in August 2021.
