About Me	After graduating from high school, I reported to Recruit Training Command San Diego in October 1988 and completed IC 'A' school in July 1989 before reporting to USS JOHN RODGERS (DD 983). My first deployment on JOHN RODGERS culminated with our participation in Operation DESERT SHIELD. In July 1991, I volunteered to transfer to USS DAHLGREN (DDG 43) completing UNITAS XXXII and qualifying Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist. I reported onboard USS BRISCOE (DD 977) in June 1992 completing two Red Sea deployments before transferring in July 1994. I elected to stay at sea and reported onboard USS DEFENDER (MCM 2) in August 1994 where I qualified Engineering Officer of the Watch during our deployment to the Northern Atlantic for Operation BLUE HARRIER 95. I transferred to SIMA Mayport in January 1996 for my initial shore duty. During this tour I completed my Associates Degree at Florida Community College at Jacksonville. I terminated shore duty early to ftransfer to USS OBANNON (DD 987) in August 1998. I was selected for the Enlisted Commissioning Program in December 1998. I graduated from the University of North Florida in May 2001 with a B.S. in Statistics. I attended SWOSDOC in Newport prior to reporting to the USS PHILIPPINE SEA (CG 58) as the Damage Control Assistant in December 2001. While onboard PHILIPPINE SEA, I qualified Officer of the Deck, Surface Warfare Officer, and Engineering Officer of the Watch. I transferred to Navy Recruiting District Jacksonville in October 2004. I completed JPME Phase I in May 2007 through the Naval War College Fleet Seminar Program. I recently completed a tour as Chief Engineer in USS JAMES E. WILLIAMS (DDG 95) in Norfolk, VA. I am currently serving as Chief Engineer in USS MOBILE BAY (CG 53) in San Diego, CA. I am married to the former Donna Barwick of Raleigh, NC. We have a 22-year old daughter,...(read more)
