She was surrounded by her loving family and her faithful rescue dog Duke as she entered into the eternal kingdom of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Lorraine was born on April 23, 1946 in Binghamton NY to Ruth and Clarence Pratt. She is survived by her husband of 44 years Donald Gelo, daughter Laura Meagley,( husband Sean), grandchildren Meredith and Matthew, Cortland NY. Son Jon Gelo, (wife Sara), Jupiter FL. Two surviving sisters, Beverly Parker (husband Robert), Austin TX, and Joan Kipp (husband D. Russell), Friendsville PA, and sister-in-law, Annette Ford (husband Robert), Binghamton NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Benevolence Fund, Grace Home, PO Box 18332, Raleigh NC 27619-8332 (pacm-nc.org). Grace House is a residence for women recently released from prison. Lorraine's family will receive friends Thursday, March 16, 2017, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609. Funeral service will be Friday, March 17, 2017, at 10:00 AM at Christ Baptist Church, 400 Newton Rd., Raleigh, NC 27615.
