Robert W. Lee, 67, of Amherst, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014.
Mr. Lee was a native of Johnson City, N.Y., where he graduated from Vestal High School in 1964. He attended Broome Technology College and completed his associate degree in mechanical technology, later attending Binghamton University.
In 1978 he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical, electrical and computer engineering.
Early in his career, he was an instructor at Broome Tech and worked for Universal Instruments in Binghamton from 1970 to 1978.
For the next 24 years, he worked at Moore Business Forms in Grand Island as a computer systems engineer and project manager. He last worked for Trek Inc. in Medina as a research and development engineer and project manager, retiring in 2005.
He was a volunteer for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Western and Central New York and the Literacy Volunteers of Buffalo and Erie County.
Mr. Lee is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marie (nee Onorato); one daughter, Lorraine ; one son, Anthony; and many relatives and friends.
A private service will be held in the spring, with arrangements by Lombardo Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Western and Central New York or the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Serving Erie County .
