It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of S72 Bob Swan.
Bob passed away on Monday night, April 28, 2025 from complications of Parkinson's’ Disease in Vancouver, Washington surrounded by his family. Bob was a powerfully impactful human to all those of whom he had touched in his life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lori, children Mitchell, Cory, Danielle, grandfather to Molly, Monahan, mother Loye, siblings Tom (Sheila), Holly (Bob Nixon) Chris Swan Lopez, and many other extended family members and friends.
Robert Anthony Swan was born on January 29, 1954 in Los Angeles to Donald Armand Swan (1930-1992) and Loye Ann Peppie joining older siblings Tom, and twin sisters Holly and Chris.

Bob grew up in a large loving home located in the Mar Vista area at 3445 Moore Street and then in 1965 the family moved to 3650 Barry Avenue. He was raised in a Catholic home and attended St. Joan of Arc Church. Bob attended Walgrove Elementary School and Daniel Webster Junior High. Growing up, Bob was more the mischievous and rambunctious child than his other siblings. He loved outdoor sports, water-skiing, pop warner football and little league baseball.

Bob became the 1st hippie in the Swan family. He was street smart, carefree, and easy going. Bob played B Football under Coach Rose, and graduated from Venice High School in June of 1972 with long blonde hair! One of his endearing qualities was the many friendships he made throughout his life, remaining in contact with many of his school and work friends.

Bob will be remembered as having led a very colorful life! When he was 19, he bought a Harley Davidson motorcycle and traveled for one year going up to Canada and the Pacific North West. “Get your motor runnin', head out on the highway, lookin' for adventure and whatever comes our way” (Born to Be Wild, Steppenwolf 1968)
He attended Oregon State University graduating in 1995 and that is when he discovered the love of golf.
Bob was a steerer and paddler for "Dragon Boat Racing for many years competing throughout the northwest. (Dragon boat racing is a water sport where teams compete in long, canoe-like boats called dragon boats, typically decorated with dragon heads and tails).

Bob worked for Nike as a Sr. Digital Creator in Portland, Oregon, retiring in 2020.
A Celebration of Life is planned for this July. His memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew him and cherished forever.
