About	Cook , Michael 6/21/1955 - 4/21/2017 Jackson, MI Michael Lee Cook, age 61, passed away on April 21st, 2017 surrounded by his family and friends, after a brief brave battle with cancer. Mike was born on June 21st, 1955 in Jackson,MI to Wilma Cook and Richard Cook. He graduated from Vandercook Lake High school in 1973 and married his high school sweetheart, Sue (Andrews) in March of 1977. Mike was an avid fisherman and hunter. Throughout his life, Mike had his hands in many trades, his career ending at Action Packaging. He was a very talented artist and storyteller as well. He loved playing poker on Friday nights, and also loved working in his garden. He adored his granddaughters, Allie and Evelyn. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Cook. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sue, daughter Amanda Curtis (Chad Barsdale), Son Adam Cook (wife Latasha), grandchildren Allie Curtis and Evelyn Cook. Also survived by sisters Bonnie Schultz (Tom), Cindy Tripp(Chris), Terri Smak (David), brothers Rick Cook (Linda) and Bob Cook, and his mother Wilma. Also survived by life long friend Keith Stevens (Pam) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation has taken place. A luncheon celebrating Mike's life will be held at Vandercook Lake high school cafeteria on Sunday May 7th, 2017 from 1pm-4pm. Published in Jackson Citizen Patriot on Apr. 25, 2017
