| About Me | Graduated summa cum laude from Marymount and was class valedictorian; interned for Mrs. Carolyn McCarthy in the US House of Representatives; studied abroad in Scotland; studied for the summer of 2002 at Yale University; graduated with my PhD from the University of Iowa and began a career as a college professor at Alabama State University; I have also have traced my family as far back as 1526 Portugal. I graduated with my PhD in English and African American Studies from the University of Iowa in May 2011. I began teaching as a professor of English and Humanities (black studies) at Alabama State University in August 2011. I am also the proud mom of three beautiful children, one in heaven and two on earth. My first son Raymond was born and passed in January 2015.
