| About Me | I spent 8 yeas in the US Army Reserve with the 416th Civil Affairs Company in Norristown; I worked 15 years as a Senior Attorney with Sun Oil Company; 4 years as the General Counsel of Williams PIpeline Company in Tulsa, OK; and began working at CITGO Petroleum Corporation in 1991, moved with CITGO to Houston,TX in 2004, and became the Geneal Counsel of CITGO in 2006. I assumed the additional duty as Chief Compliance Officer in 2010. I have traveled over 1 million miles on business with American Airlines. I spent 4 years traveling every other week to either Caracas, Venezuela or some other country in Latin America. I have been to Europe on business for every year since 1994. I have handled billion dollar transactions and lawsuits involving tens of millions of dollars. My wife of 38 years, Mary Kay, teaches riding and trains horses. She has a bronze medal from the US Dressage Federation. We currently own 2 horses, a Welsh pony, 3 minature horeses, one of which is a certified Delta therapy horse, and a donkey. That mini is also trained to drive. We have owned as many as 15 horses at the same time, 5 dogs, and 8 cats. Our older daughter, Mariah, has a masters degree in community counseling and is an elementary school counselor. Her husband has a PhD in clincal, behavorial, and school psychology. They live in Cypress, TX with our granddaughters, Maisie and Heidi. Our other daughter, Abby, is an attorney with the Oklahoma Tax Commission. She is a third generation lawyer. Her husband is a wildlife biologist. They live in Edmond, OK with our grandsons, Carney Madden, and granddaughter, Ella. I was honored as 2009 Recipient of "The Houston Business Journal"-Association of Corporate Counsel Corporate Counsel of the Year Award for a Law Department between 11 and 25 Attorneys and 2009 Recipient of "The Houston Business Journal"-Association of Corporate Counsel Champion of Diversity.
