Cheryl Lynn Bender
Class of 1994
Navy, 2 Years
I joined the U.S. Navy in October of 1995, during boot camp I suffered several fractures in both legs. They were found on my patellas, tibs, fibs, feet and my ankles. I was able to complete boot camp on time but continued to get breaks an have problems with my joints. I was unable to complete my 6 month PRT an was discharged honorably with medical disability. I am now a disabled veteran. I'm very proud of my service an just wish I could of put my full 20 years in. I did my boot camp in Great Lakes, IL. Then off to sunny San Diego, CA for MS ( navy cook ) school. After that it was off to my duty station in the hottest place in the world, ( at least it felt like it) NAS Lemoore,CA. Then I was sadly discharged.
