GREEN TECHNOLOGY CLUB
OF TOTTENVILLE HIGH SCHOOL

Greetings:
I’m writing to you on behalf of the Tottenville Green Technology Club, an organization consisting of high school level youths that are promoting alternative energy solutions by building and racing a solar powered vehicle. The Tottenville High School Green Tech Solar Car team is once again competing in the annual high school Solar Car Challenge to take place in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas in July 2016. This will be our sixth consecutive year in this competition, and we hope to continue this STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) initiative by challenging our students to strive for the championship title. Ultimately, however, our success is not measured by finishing first, but by the students having hands on education and team participation.
One of the largest expenses involved in building a solar powered vehicle is the array of solar cells that generate all the power necessary to drive the car in solar races without ever plugging in or filling up. Our organization is dedicated to the process of making this year’s vehicle much more improved by purchasing a new motor and batteries. Once again, in order for that to happen we need your generous financial support.
We have been successful to this point by having the support of our family, friends and local supporters. In order to again compete against several other teams from across the country, we need this continued help and support. The Tottenville Solar Car team is very proud to be the only team to represent New York City in this nationwide competition and wish to continue to do so with the new equipment making the vehicle a more competitive in the competition.
I would like to thank you for considering this opportunity to partner with our Green Technology Club for raising funds. If you have any inquiries regarding our organization, our fund management policy, or the project itself, please feel free to visit our student website at www.Solar-Pirates.com or contact me at the address given above or at charleswdazzo@gmail.com. (Cell 917-842-4209).
Thank you,
Charles W. Dazzo

Permanent Honor Roll Boards Removed and being discarded from THS!!!

Tottenville HS has removed all of the permanent honor roll boards from the school and are discarding them. Right now they are laying in wait for trash removal. This is an important part of THS history, in addition to being an important part of Staten Island history! Can't someone do something to rescue these? I'd go myself, but am located in NM and cannot do much except advocate for help. My family members are on these boards! Here is the link that details this.
