| About Me | Wow let's see, Graduated (given) from Tivy, accepted a football scholarship to Southwestern College in Winfield Kansas. Stayed there one year (home sick). At the same time immediately after graduation I signed up for the TX Army National Guard. So one week after graduation from Tivy I was shipped off to Basic Training located at Ft. Sill, which is in Lawton Oklahoma. (Talking about going from small town hero to zero, those Drill Sgt.s let you know real fast, lol. I wouldn't trade the experience for all the money in the world). Back on topic, after two months of intense training, I report for 2 A Days in Kansas and to the coaches dismay many pounds lighter and for the first time in my life with a six pack, which last two months, lol too much junk food. After completing my Freshman year up there I transferred to Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls TX where I roomed with "The" Marty Garcia, a true friend he is!!!!! Also at the same school with us was Chase Ahrens and Jon Keith. After completing my Soph. year there I decided to enter the Army full-time in 1993 of October. Just before I shipped off to Ft. Hood in Killeen TX I married a beautiful Tivy Graduate from the class of 1993 Shea Holliman. though it didn't last lone (too young) she taught me alot about living. I remained at Ft. Hood until August of 1996 and completed my service contract. Oh almost forgot, during that time, fellow alumns Brad Harvey and Todd Underwood were attending Tarleton State Unversity in Stephenville TX. Thanks to those guys for remaining close friends and helping me keep my sanity during those days (can't disclose details to protect the guilty, lol). So, after leaving the army I didn't the ususal Tivy alumnus activity and moved back to Kerrville (wish I could have stayed, love that place). In 1997 I sighned up to attend the Alamo Area Law Enforcement Academy which was being held in Kerrville that year, thank god!!! Nine months later I was a commissioned TX Peace Officer looking for a job. Of coarse Kerrville P.D. wasn't ready for me so I took my first job in a small town named McGregor. Located on highways 84 and 317. This is just west of Waco and just east of Gatesville. Very small town, I was the tenth cop, very small. After six months there I moved to my second home where the majority of my family is which is good old Houston. I've been cuffing and stuffing down here ever since. Did I mention I graduated from TX Southern University in Houston TX, yes I didn't, lol. OH yea, I just purchased my first home in Novemb...(read more) |
