About	Gregory Alan Overby, age 59 of Conroe, TX, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015. He was born February 26, 1956 in Anchorage, Alaska to Avery Irvin Overby and Allegra Martha (Vickstrom) Overby. On May 22, 1976, he married Patrice Mosty at the First Baptist Church in Kerrville. Gregory was a 1974 graduate of Tivy High School and 1978 graduate of the University of Texas. He served in the United States Air Force for 26 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2007. He was the Air Force Junior ROTC Commander at Oakridge High School in Conroe. Greg was a member of West Conroe Baptist Church in Conroe. He was preceded in death by his father, Avery Overby on June 15, 2008 and mother-in-law, Annie Peschel Mosty on January 5, 2014. Survivors include wife, Patrice Mosty Overby of Conroe; son, Ben Overby and wife, Vika of Mexico City, Mexico; daughter, Corrie Overby and Mark McGrail of Chicago, Illinois; granddaughter, Eliza McGrail; mother, Allegra Overby of Kerrville; brothers, Gary Overby and wife, Sheri of Sachse, TX and Guy Overby and wife, Carrie of Kerrville; father-in-law, John Milford Mosty of Kerrville; sister-in-law, Liesse Schiller and Jim Hunter of Austin; nieces and nephews, Chris Putnam and wife, Jessamyn of Fredericksburg, TX, Noel Putnam of Hunt, TX; Lauren Starr and husband, Matt of Whitesboro, TX, Lisa Gutierrez and husband, Levi of Frederick, CO; Lindsey Overby of Plano, TX, Jacqueline Brummett and husband, Andrew of Pipe Creek, TX, Connor Overby and wife, Baelie of Kerrville. Services will be held at West Conroe Baptist Church at 10 AM, Saturday, August 22, 2015 officiated by Pastor Jay Gross. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 23, 2015, 4-6 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville. Services will be held at 10 AM, Monday, August 24, 2015 at First Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Greg Peschel. Interment will follow at Brown-Goss Cemetery in Kerrville with Air Force honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center or to the International Mission Board through West Conroe Baptist Church, 1855 Longmire, Conroe, TX 77304.
