Class of 1952
Navy, 20+ Years
Commissioned in 1956 through the MROTC program at UW Madison. Completed flight training in 1958. Served as a fighter pilot for 15 years, flying the F8 Crusader, and F4 Phantom. Flew over 175 combat missions from the USS Kitty Hawk in 1966-67 over Vietnam. Served for 31 years. Retired as Captain in 1987.

Coast Guard, 20 Years
Started my military career in the US Army in 1984. Had gotten tired of going camping at their whim and got out in 86. 4 months later I enlisted in the US Coast Guard and had found my niche. I stayed in the Coast Guard for another 16 years as a Telephone Technician and retired in 2001.
