Graduation Year Class of 1962
Date of Passing Jun 07, 1999
About Vivian Stray Felix succumbed to breast cancer in L.A. County California after a brave and courageous 30 month battle with the deadly disease. Vivian was the wife (and soul-mate of almost 35 years) of university president Richard Felix and beloved by all who knew her, transforming all who came in contact with her. She had a remarkable faith in God. After her death, Vivian's husband Richard retired and, using her journals, wrote a loving tribute to his wife entitled The School of Dying Graces, Lessons on living from two extraordinary journeys toward God. It's a beautiful story told with brutal honesty about Vivian's last years as she battled "the Beast", as she dubbed the cancer.

Besides her husband Vivian is survived by a daughter Melissa and two sons, Doak and Tris, plus several grandchildren. There is a building named in her honor, The Richard and Vivian Felix Event Center at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, CA, in addition to the Vivian Felix Memorial: A Place of Healing, adjacent to the event center.
Richard said that Vivian "will want to give us all her best" and that she loved being on the Bagpipe staff. We will sorely miss her quiet grace at our reunion.
Vivian Stray Felix
