About | Keith Adam Bouchard, age 47, of Omaha, died on Friday, July 21, 2017 in Omaha. He was born the son of Joel Dale and Brenda Lee (McFarland) Bouchard on September 19, 1969, at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, a United State Army Hospital near Landstuhl, Germany. After returning to the US, he grew up in Council Bluffs, Iowa, attending grade school and high school, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs in 1988. He later attended Bellevue University, where he was working toward his Bachelor’s Degree. As a youngster, he loved climbing trees, hiking mountains, riding his bike or his horse, and had a love for animals. On July 9, 2005, Keith was united in marriage to Katie Anne Thatcher on the shore of Nanticoke River near Quantico, Maryland. He served his country from 1987 until 2014; first with the United States Marine Corp for 10 years, where he was a Mortar man and Sniper, and then with the United States Coast Guard as a BM1. Keith served as a Marine in Panama and through Desert Storm, receiving multiple awards for his service and heroism. His time in the Coast Guard was no different, as he was awarded many times for his skills and determination in saving lives and protecting our waters. Keith retired and was honorably discharged in September of 2014. Keith always enjoyed working with his hands and was very mechanically inclined. He enjoyed mountain biking, and was a connoisseur of urban breweries and distilleries. Most of all, Keith loved being a father to his three daughters. Some of his greatest accomplishments were his graduations from the Marine Corps and the Coast Guard, the fact that he was a good friend, and a hero. The most important events of his life were the births of his children, and his military career. Keith enjoyed Jazz music, the band Coldplay, and liked watching well-done war documentaries. His favorite pastime was reading. He was a Nebraska Husker fan with a love for Knob Creek Whisky and Bookers Bourbon. He appreciated good food, especially Sushi, Mexican cuisine, and artisan pizza from Noli’s. He was a tolerant man until it came to disorganization and bad drivers. His love and loyalty to his dear mother, his dedication to being a father to his children, and his service to his country is what he would want us to remember of him. He was preceded in death by: his father, Joel Dale Bouchard; step-father, Willard J. Harris; grandparents, Dale & Lois Bouchard; and grandmother, Elva McFarland. Keith is survived by: his wife, Katie Bouchard of Omaha, NE; his daughters: Lauren Nicole, Lily Elena, and Piper Anne; his dear mother, Brenda Hughes of Wahoo, NE; family, and a host of military buddies and friends. |
