Betty E. Snipes, age 72, passed away Saturday, April 20th, 2013, at Risen Son.
Betty was born in Council Bluffs, on July 12, 1940, to Lawrence "Roy" and Dorleta (Benson) Richards and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1958. Betty worked as a Telephone Operator and later at Western Electric and was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the Eagles #104.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Herbert, in 2001; brother, Charles "Bud" Richards; sisters Bertha Dixon, Mary Ellen Brooks, Paula Rablin and Patricia Griffeth.
Survivors include daughter, Connie Cain (Jim Butler); son, Brian Settell (Julie) all, Council Bluffs; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; step son, Richard Snipes (Deb), of Omaha, Neb.; sisters, Diana and Tyann Richards; nieces and nephews.
Visitation Thursday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services Friday, 11 a.m., all at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Walnut Hill Reception Center.
