About	H. Jeannette Kaufman, age 85, of Council Bluffs, passed away April 8, 2013, at Mercy Hospital. Jeannette was born November 15, 1927, in Council Bluffs to the late Albert and Eva (Cherry) Cowles. She graduated Thomas Jefferson High School in 1945. On October 12, 1947, Jeannette married William A. Kaufman and to this union five children were born. Jeannette was a homemaker, worked as a bookkeeper for Dr. Hirst, M.D. and was a seasonal employee for the IRS. She was a member of Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. In addition to her parents, Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Kaufman in 2004; sisters, Kathryn Kenworthy and Shirley Dobbs; brother, Alan Cowles. Jeannette is survived by her daughter, Janet (Mark) Bowers, of Omaha, Neb.; sons, Randall (Jane) Kaufman, of Smyrna, Tenn., Steven (Cindy) Kaufman, of Crescent, Iowa, Alan (Gloria) Kaufman, of St. Paul, Minn., Kevin (Deb) Kaufman, of Crescent, Iowa; 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; brother, Donald (Ruth) Cowles, of Omaha; numerous nieces and nephews. Recitation of the Rosary Wednesday, 6 p.m., followed by visitation with the family until 8 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery with a lunch following at Queen of the Apostles Social Hall. Memorials are suggested to Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church or St. Albert Schools.
