About	Jami B. (Johnston) McLeod, age 43, of Bremerton, Wash., formerly of Council Bluffs, Iowa, died Thursday, August 13, 2009, from injuries received in a car-semi-trailer truck accident on Interstate 80 near the Minden, Neb., interchange. Jami was born March 26, 1966, in Council Bluffs, to Eldon and Lyla (Moore) Johnston, Sr. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1984. Jami was preceded in death by her father, Eldon Johnston, Sr. in 1994. She is survived by her husband, Richard McLeod; daughter, T'Lea McLeod, both of Bremerton, Wash.; mother, Lyla Johnston; brothers, Eldon Johnston, Jr. and wife, Jan, Jay Johnston, Jeff Johnston, all of Council Bluffs, Joel Johnston and wife, Jenny, of Audubon, Iowa; sisters, Linda O'Neal and husband, Dallas, Patricia Williams and husband, Mike, Jayne Johnston, Jana Clark and husband, Jim, Jaci Pettie, Jodi Foster and husband, Steve, Jobi Johnston and husband, Larry, all of Council Bluffs, Paula Hollinger and husband, Doug, of Denison, Iowa, Joni Eppert, of Omaha; many nieces and nephews. Jami passed away on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009 along with her father-in-law David "Smokey" McLeod from injuries in a car-semitrailer truck accident on Interstate 80 while on vacation in Nebraska. Jami was born on March 26, 1966 to Lyla and Eldon Johnston of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Jami lived in Council Bluffs until moving to Bremerton in 1991 with her then boyfriend, Richard (Rick) McLeod whom she later married on Oct. 14, 1994. Jami worked at the Skipper's in Bremerton and in Silverdale, she was also employed at Melody Lane and Brother Don's throughout her many years living in the Bremerton area. In late 2005, she began a job she loved as a Nanny until the time of her passing. Jami had a beautiful spirit and a giving heart that she easily shared with everyone that came in contact with her, anyone that met her, loved her. Jami's greatest joy in life was being a mother and best friend to her 16-year-old daughter, T'Lea McLeod. Jami loved to watch T'Lea play select soccer, high school soccer and run high school track. Jami was an amazing daughter, sister, wife and mother. The newest love in Jami's life was her puppy Bella. Jami is survived by her husband, Richard (Rick) McLeod of Bremerton, her daughter, T'Lea McLeod of Bremerton, her mother, Lyla Johnston of Council Bluffs, Iowa, her brothers, Eldon Jr., Jeff, Joel and Jay and sisters, Linda, Patricia, Jayne, Paula, Joni, Jana, Jaci, Jodi, Jobi and numerous nieces and nephews. Jami was preceded in death by her father, Eldon Johnston Sr. in 1994, and her paternal and maternal grandparents. A memorial service is scheduled for Aug. 29th at 2pm at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Chapel in Bremerton, with a potluck reception to follow.
