Rapheal Alexander, 38, 137 Benton St., died of cancer Monday at Bergan-Mercy Medical Center in Omaha.
He was born in Waxahachie, Texas, and was a 1973 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, and a 1988 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He worked for Wickoff Industries in Des Moines and formerly worked for Peoples Natural Gas. He was a Captain and Commander of the U.S. Army Reserves in Iowa City. He received an Army commendation medal for his work in the Reserves.
He was a member of Church of Living God in Omaha.
Survivors include one daughter, Dulce Madea Mueller, father Charles Sr. of Council Bluffs; two brothers, James and Charles Jr., both of Council Bluffs; one half-sister, Debra Hawkins of Dallas; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 pm Saturday at McCurdy Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
