Gordon L. Hester, age 69, of Omaha passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at UNMC in Omaha.
Gordon was born on October 1, 1954 in Council Bluffs to the late Loran and Evelyn (Meisinger) Hester. He married Shirley King on July 19, 1974. Gordon worked as Manager of Structural Projects for Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years, retiring in 2014. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Elks Arie # 3943.
Gordon was preceded in death by 2 twin granddaughters; brother, Larry Hester; sister, Linda Ozer.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Hester of Omaha; 2 daughters, Lori Pocky of Omaha; Lisa and Christopher Raymond of Louisville, NE.; son, Kyle and Mary Hester of Ralston, NE.; 4 grandchildren, Paige Raymond; Siena Raymond; Hannah Raymond; Hunter Hester; 2 brothers, Ronald Hester of Honey Creek, Iowa; Chuck and Linda Hester of Omaha; sister, Carol Kneip of Omaha; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation with family on Monday, May 6, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00PM at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral Service on Tuesday at 11:00AM at the Funeral Home. Burial at the Carson Cemetery following the luncheon at the Funeral Home. Family will direct memorials.
