Thomas Charles Vincent, age 86, of Springfield, NE long-time teacher and coach at Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, passed away on January 6, 2024.
Tom was born on October 3, 1937 to Russell and Ruby (Taylor) Vincent. He grew up in Springfield, went to college at Peru State University where he earned a degree in secondary education. He taught high school at Nelson, NE, and Rock Rapids, IA before arriving at Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, where he spent most of his career teaching and coaching. He
married Sandra Doty on August 18, 1961 in Louisville, NE. They were married for 62 years. Tom was an avid fisherman and he loved sports - particularly Nebraska Cornhusker Football.
Tom is survived by his wife, Sande Vincent; sons, Matt (Kelly) of St. Louis, MO, Mike (Cynthia) of Davenport, FL, Mark of Papillion; daughters, Michelle of Papillion and Melissa of Springfield; his sister, Cheryl of Denver, CO;10 grandchildren; one great grandchild and his beloved dogs.
It was Tom's wish that there be no services.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Nebraska Humane Society.
