Karen E. Markussen, age 90, passed away peacefully at Rose Vista Nursing Home January 23, 2024.
She was born October 27, 1933, to the late Richard and Elizabeth (Morris) Markussen. Karen attended Thomas Jefferson High School. She started her banking career with City National and retired from State Bank and Trust. She loved to craft, especially knitting and crocheting. Karen enjoyed her flower garden and most of all, loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Richard Markussen.
Karen is survived by her children, Julie (Thomas) Ryan, Sandra Vogt, and Bruce (Melanie) Schafer; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m., at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, on Friday, January 26, 2024. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
