About Harry Michael “Mike” Wymore, son of Jean Marie Leytham & Harry Lee Wymore was born on June 28, 1947 in Omaha, Nebraska. He passed away on September 6, 2023 in New Braunfels, Texas at the age of 76 from a long battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean and father, Harry; his step-son Kevin Christopher Wolnik; Donald and Lillian Romans who Mike adopted as his second set of parents, and Fred Romans his friend and adopted brother.

Mike is survived by his wife, Kristy Wymore of New Braunfels, Texas; daughter Michelle N. Peeples of Renton, Washington; step-daughter Kari C. Lehmann (Norman) of Orange City, Iowa; brother in laws Victor J. Harrod, Jr of Merritt Island, Florida and Jeffrey E. Harrod of Omaha, Nebraska; 7 grandchildren, Lindsey Dominik Drake Danielle Rian Tegan and Berkley and adopted brother Leland Romans as well as many other family members and friends.

Mike graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa and was then drafted in the U.S. Navy in 1965. Mike received the Purple Heart for the wounds he sustained in battle on December 28, 1967. After his Navy stent he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 32 years, retiring in 2007. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and Tangier Shriners in Omaha, Nebraska and Bluffs City Lodge No. 71 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Mike enjoyed traveling to Washington and Kansas to see the grandchildren, chatting with his Vietnam buddies who he had reconnected with over the years and helping take care of our 3 Alaskan Malamutes who loved him dearly. His bucket list wasn’t completed unfortunately due to his illnesses. His bark was always worse than his bite but he was a big softy underneath.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels, TX, 189 N. Sequin Ave, New Braunfels, TX 78130.

An additional service, with Military Honors, will be held on October 12, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, Dementia Society of America or the Disabled American Veterans.
