About	Robert C. O’Neill, age 75, of Underwood, Iowa, passed away August 7, 2018 at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha. Bob was born August 4, 1943 in Council Bluffs to the late Robert S. and Betty J. (Howe) O’Neill. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1961 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Bob married Virginia S. Vittitoe on September 29, 1963 in Council Bluffs. He worked for OPPD as a supervisor for 40 years, retiring in 2001. Bob was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Neola; VFW Post #737; lifetime member of the NRA; founding member of the CB Rifle & Pistol Club; and past secretary of the Fish & Game Club. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Finchem. Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia O’Neill of Underwood; daughter, Penny (Wes) Nelson of Treynor, Iowa; son, Gary O’Neill of Council Bluffs; 5 granddaughters, 1 grandson; brothers, Richard (Myrtle) O’Neill, John O’Neill all of Council Bluffs; special nieces and nephews, Cindy and Kevin Kohlscheen, Denise and Brian Schoening, Ronda and Matt Gammel; aunts, Wilma Vittitoe of Papillion, Nebraska, Evelyn Purchase of Onawa, Iowa; and Bob’s special OPPD family.
